Sheila Ann Johnson Everitt

1938 - 2024

A Life without passion is not living, it's merely existing. Leo Buscaglia.

Sheila lived a life full of fun and passion.

Sheila was born December 22, 1938 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and died April 3, 2024 in Kona, Hawaii. Her family lived in several states during her youth due to her father's work, but to Sheila's dismay, the family settled in Alaska in 1955. Sheila graduated from Anchorage High School in 1957, married Norman Frostad (deceased) and raised 4 children "in the frozen forsaken wasteland her daddy dragged them to" (in her own words).

In 1978 Sheila moved to Kailua Kona Hawaii, where she thawed, thrived and said her life really began. Since her arrival to Kona 46 years ago, Sheila created a life filled with friends, family, fun, & gratitude. Sheila found her niche baking her popular Macadamia Nut Pies and selling them at the local farmers market. Later, with the support of her family, she established MacPie, Inc. which became a local favorite, and eventually sold worldwide. Sheila loved her island community, and participated in many local activities like community theater, singing karaoke, judging the annual Halloween contest and chili cook offs. She could be seen on a "convertible car" with her sash, tiara, and princess wave in many local parades. Sheila embraced and mastered the art of designing and creating Hawaiian Feather Hatband Leis, which were intricately detailed & layered. One of her leis even won 1st place in a local contest. She was a member of the Calabash Cousins, a group who celebrates and preserves Hawaiian culture. Sheila was instrumental in establishing a local chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation, and became the sole volunteer on the island for many years to come. She later became involved with the local Hospice program, and filled a very needed role during her time of service. In 2002, Sheila was encouraged by friends to participate in the Ms. Senior Hawaii contest and received the title of Ms. Senior Hawaii 2002. Following this title, Sheila placed in the top 10 of the Ms. Senior America pageant held in Biloxi Mississippi. Sheila loved to entertain and host elegant parties for her many friends. She lived her life in full technicolor, and was the star in her own show.

Sheila is survived by her daughter Brandi Murphy, son in law Mark Murphy, daughter Monika Scott, son Erik Frostad, daughter in law Marylou Rivera, her grandchildren Jessica Greiner, Jennifer Martinez, Lauren Ripkin, Sarah Cameron, Chelsi Scott, 9 great grandchildren; her sisters Jenifer Hunter, and Vanessa Kaleikini.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Margaret Johnson, her beloved brothers Tony, Steve, Pete, and Kip Johnson, and her son Gregory Frostad.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20,2024 at 'Huggo's Lounge', Sheila's favorite place in Kona. The service will be held from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
